What I will be doing with my music blog...

I love music!
I grew up in it, I've lived it, I've seen it, I've heard it .....etc.
I know the musician perspective and the business perspective and everything in-between and then some.
The music industry is a tough market to be in, no matter what your part may be.
Not to mention if you're me, a women.
I don't have that macho stance with a "i'll beat ya to a pulp" stride in my walk. Just to let it be know, I actually support all music genres, musicians, bands, artists, groups, dancers, singers, venues, restaurants, business's, and more. I am a very respectful person, that is who my grandfather raised  me to be. A respectable, honest, hard working women.
I know a lot of musicians/bands/artists/venues (etc.) which is why I am bringing Cowbell with that? to become a place to promote bands, and venues. The good, the bad and the honest truth. Well not really the bad, but just the good and honest truth about bands when they perform, venues that host live music, and everything that you have to encounter in between.
For what I have encountered, to the well seasoned musicians that I know and meet; I am sure what I have to say in these postings will help people or just entertain you =)
Even if it's to review a band that I have never heard of; I don't knock any musician down because what they are doing takes talent it takes craft and skill. Hours & hours upon practicing.

With that being said, I hope that you will continue reading future posts, and even chime in on the topics from time to time. Even if your a musician or venue, need an honest review done. Cowbell with that? is the place to come to!

Walking into 1st Down & Stassney on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 9pm, I was looking forward to having a good time with some friends, and enjoy a great band. Some of the member in the band I do know, and I already knew how great of musicians they were. But I was completely shocked when hearing this band. High energy, audience screaming for more, amazing dance moves, fantastic voice, and an impeccable band; and this was just during and after the first song.

When Braulio Rodriguez (Lead Vocals) belts out a single note, you will instantly obtain goosebumps. His powerful, strong, and melodic voice is addicting. Watching him on stage is mezmorizing, cause boy can he move! Grabbing the attention of the audience and inviting them to become apart of the performance, showed me that this is an artist who cares about his fans.

A man with such an amazing voice also comes with an out of this world band. A man of many words, Marc Sustaita (Trumpet/Back-Up Vocals) not only has an great voice to back up Braulio, but he worked that trumpet like the well seasoned pro he is. Sensationally talented to just go from singing to playing the horn in a blink of an eye.

Braulio wasn't the only one working the stage, you can see Dan Corona (Guitar/Back-Up Vocals) & Alex Sefchick (Bass) feeling the groove of each and every song. Listening to Dan Corona on his guitar, you would think he is Carlos Santana's 1/2 brother. Mixing Tejano & Rock together comes just as easy as breathing, with his powerful cords can make anyone become a fan of not only the guitar, but him. It was also a nice surprise to hear Dan Corona on lead vocals during "Chucos Suaves." Not to mention they gave an incredible taste of hardcore Latin Rock to song.

I like my bass just like I like my coffee, strong. That is exactly what Alex Sefchick (Bass)
brought to the performance. Keeping a fantastic bass line while grooving to the music, you can see that with each slap of the bass, he slapped it with heart.
Melody & chord progression is key to a great band, this is exactly what I have learned from listening to Daniel 'Dez' Hernandez (Keyboard). I could see the focus, determination, and thrill he exibits.

Chimes, timbales, & congas...OH MY!
Is what Christopher Faison (Percussion) had me thinking. Adding the sugar & spice with harmony & melody, really put the a cap on the band. Bringing the songs together, like the melodic beating of the congas during "Juana La Cubana", and "Chucos Suaves."

Last but certainly not least is the beat monster himself, Juan Salazar (Drums.) The swift kick of the bass drums, feels like its jumping out of your chest. The rhythm that Juan Salazar displays can get your moving your feet, or out on the dance floor having a great time.
You put everything I said together and what you have is an;
unstoppable, professional, energetic, hard working, breath taking, thrilling, mind-blowing, and most of all sensational band named......... Braulio Y Fuzzion!

Every song performed by Braulio Y Fuzzion, had the audience wanting more. There wasn't a song performed that the audience didn't like. My personal favorite song performed is "Si Lo Quieres" although I love every song. They performed an oldie but goodie "Volver, Volver" which got everyone in the place singing. Even a twist to the popular song "Careless Whispers"  re-written by lead singer Braulio Rodriguez, which really showcased his incredible voice, and the ability to captivate the audience.  Their set list was filled with cumbias which really kept the energy high, crowd dancing, and the drinks coming.

All in all if you missed them rockin' the house last night, don't worry they will be performing again this weekend (check below for info.)
Braulio Y Fuzzion is taking the Tejano music scene by storm, and putting Tejano music back on track. Be sure to catch them because this high energy band is going places.  They definitely have a life long fan and friend here!
To Braulio Y Fuzzion : Keep doing what you're doing, you all are great musicians with extraordinary talent. Don't let anyone tell you different.
